Every year Blue Ridge Fellows invites a select group of highly talented, hard working college grads to begin their careers in Roanoke. As numerous local employers have found, Blue Ridge Fellows provide excellent value to their employers across a variety of industries. For the 2019-2020 year, the fellows will be available to work Tuesday, September 10, 2019 until Thursday, May 14, 2019.

The fellows work 24-32 hours a week, Tuesday through Friday, during the hours set by the employer, provided they do not conflict with evening commitments of the program. We ask that employers compensate the fellows for their work; the exact wage varies depending on the job and training/experience of the fellow.  Benefits not expected.

The following are dates when the fellow must be excused from the work place without pay:

·       Christmas break: December 24- January 1

·       International Service Trip: (March. One week. Dates TBD)

·       In some situations, fellows can begin work prior to the official start, which is one week after Labor Day.  In addition, very often employers make long term offers of employment to their fellow after the completion of their fellow year.  In either case it is important to note that fellows have mandatory week long orientation and debrief retreats the week after Labor Day and the week before Memorial Day, during which they are unavailable to work.

If you are interested in hiring a well-qualified, personally mature, Blue Ridge Fellow please contact Blue Ridge Fellows Director, Tim Henderson, tim@blueridgefellows.org. Resumes of all fellows are available upon request.
